Persatuan Warisan Sarawak has been appointed voters registration assistant effective immediately.
Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya Malaysia in their official approval letter, Ref: SPR(O)300/1/4-1 Jld 7(35), has approved Persatuan Warisan Sarawak KL as 'Penolong Pendaftar Pemilih' to help eligible Malaysians to register as voter in Peninsular Malaysia, particularly in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
The registration procedure is standard to any Penolong Pendaftar Pemilih in the country. Each voter will be registered based on current address as stated in Malaysian Identity Card (NRIC). It is important to note that Persatuan Warisan Sarawak does not perform any change of address should the eligible voter wishes to vote in places different from the ones stated in the IC. To do so, the eligible voter must first change the current address in the IC with Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara and then proceed to register as voter.
We will soon run a promotional drive to encourage and enable more eligible Sarawakians to register and vote during election. There are about 100,000 Sarawakians here in Peninsular Malaysia and we look forward to helping many Sarawakians register as voters during our road show at office towers, shopping malls, universities etc.
Let us all register as voter so we can uphold our rights and protect what is rightfully ours, people power.
